Opportunity Summary
The Construction Safety Officer will be responsible for working collaboratively with site project teams and in partnership with our sub-trades to implement and monitor the site-specific safety plan, ensure compliance, report concerns, and implement solutions in accordance with Company’s safety program. The successful candidate will be dedicated to a role on a large high-rise project. This role is employed through CLAC, and membership will be required once hired.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively monitor and influence work progress to ensure compliance with health and safety at the project site
- Proven ability in building and maintaining strong relationships with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to work with stakeholders to find creative, and balanced solutions to problems
- Document progress in daily progress reports
- Provide site orientations to new workers/visitors to the site
- Monitor compliance to safety procedures and policies
- Educate workers on safety standards and best practices
- Initiate and supports incident response, notification, and investigation activities
- Conduct Toolbox meetings for site staff
- Review of all Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRA)
- Act as required to immediately correct unsafe acts or conditions
- Communicate safety requirements to all on site

Qualifications
- Certified Construction Safety Officer (CSO) designation with a minimum of five years’ health and safety experience on a construction site.
- Current Fall Protection, SiteReadyBC, Transport endorsement, and Advanced First Aid certifications.
- At least 5+ years of construction site safety experience, ideally on commercial, residential, or institutional projects.
- Proven ability in building and maintaining strong relationships with multiple stakeholders across various sites.
- Proficient working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on finding creative and balanced solutions.

$36.00 - $44.00 per hour
